Our engine independently discovered W159H as the top PETase mutation candidate — from sequence fitness data alone, with no prior knowledge of published literature. Sun et al. 2024 later validated this mutation as a significant activity-improving variant. That is not luck. That is architecture.
The Problem
Plastic Won't Wait
Natural PETase degrades PET plastic too slowly for real-world deployment. Finding faster variants means screening millions of mutation combinations — costing months of lab time and significant funding. Most tools require GPU clusters or expensive cloud infrastructure.

AETHER runs entirely on consumer hardware. A custom GA+PSO hybrid search engine, initialized by DoWhy causal discovery and guided by ESM-2 protein language model scoring. Every result is physics-validated and blockchain-anchored for permanent reproducibility.
